Debarshi was looking for fashionable and well-made menswear but found the selection in India lacking, so he took matters into his own hands by creating ARTLESS.
Debarshi needed to unload his old inventory and make some money so he could invest in developing new products. His only goal was to have a D2C eCommerce site; he never wanted to sell from anyone else's website.
Being on marketplaces and keeping up with their forever-changing policies is something Debarshi expressed intense dislike for.
In the past, Debarshi has worked with a few agencies that didn't bring any great results. Debarshi was losing money on his collections because he was working with other agencies that didn't provide adequate support on product selection and website optimization.
Additionally, he tried to learn and ran ads for his collections but ended up losing a lot of money. He was very confused and frustrated because he didn't have any expertise in advertising.
To make matters worse, he had invested heavily in inventory that he now needs to sell off as quickly as possible.

This time he was back again on marketplaces which he disliked.
From making money in 2021, Debarshi was losing money in 2022. He was relying on the marketplaces so he could survive his D2C brand.
After he decided to go back to Arlox, he started receiving a ton of counterfeit orders because the targeting was inaccurate and his CPCs were skyrocketing. Pixel had tons of poor data.
His CPC was ten times higher than the industry average.
Arlox took it as a challenge and assured him that these problems are solvable.
